TWO FRIENDS HIT THE ROAD IN A DESPERATE BID TO SAVE THEIR RECORD SHOP

1 min read

A quirky Irish comedy follows two vinyl-loving friends on a frantic journey to rescue their struggling record store. Facing eviction by their demanding landlord, the pair discover a potential goldmine: a farmer in Cork is unknowingly selling a collection of rare blues records for a fraction of their true value.

Seeing a chance to solve their money troubles, the friends embark on a road trip south, planning to buy the records cheaply and resell them for a hefty profit. But their simple plan quickly unravels into a series of chaotic misadventures.

The film’s charm lies in its offbeat humor and the oddball conversations between the two leads. One, a divorced father, casually discusses buying a “secondhand” horse for his daughter, prompting his friend to muse that all horses are technically secondhand. Later, their shared horror over a film featuring a shark with legs, or a disgusted observation about pigeons, adds to the easygoing, comedic tone.

Beneath the laughter, however, lies a moral dilemma. Their quest for quick cash forces them to question whether they are compromising their principles, much like the legendary blues musician whose records they seek.

This lighthearted adventure, filled with laughter and a love for vinyl, arrives in cinemas this October.
