The royal patriarch, known for his blunt manner, allegedly told the younger royal that while dating actresses might be acceptable, marriage to one was not appropriate. This conversation reportedly occurred despite the public celebration surrounding the couple’s engagement announcement.
Further accounts suggest the senior royal maintained his reservations through the couple’s 2018 wedding ceremony. A former staff member recalled hearing the elder royal express relief when the formalities concluded, commenting that the ceremony had seemed excessively long.
