NETFLIX PARTS WAYS WITH HARRY AND MEGHAN AS PRODUCTION DEAL CONCLUDES

1 min read

A major content production agreement between the streaming service Netflix and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will conclude at the end of the year and will not be renewed, according to industry reports. The multi-year partnership, initially valued at approximately $100 million, was established in 2020.

Sources indicate the non-renewal is a result of a strategic realignment within the streaming giant’s content portfolio rather than any personal discord. An insider familiar with the matter characterized the conclusion as a natural expiration, stating the arrangement had simply “run its course” and that there is no ill will between the parties involved.

The deal led to the creation of several projects, most notably the documentary series “Harry & Meghan,” which chronicled the couple’s departure from royal life and their subsequent move to the United States. Their production company, Archewell Productions, also released a lifestyle series, “With Love, Meghan.” It has been confirmed that the upcoming second season of this series will proceed with its planned release, unaffected by the conclusion of the overarching deal.

The couple’s foray into content creation has been met with a mixed reception from audiences and critics. While some projects attracted significant initial viewership, others were perceived as failing to resonate broadly. Public commentary on their work has often been polarized, reflecting the divisive nature of their public profile since stepping back from royal duties. Neither Prince Harry nor Meghan Markle has issued a public statement regarding the conclusion of their Netflix partnership.
