Actor Jeff Goldblum has revealed he has eliminated meat from his diet, a personal change he attributes directly to his involvement in the “Wicked” film series. The 73-year-old star, who portrays the Wizard of Oz, stated that the production’s focus on themes of animal welfare profoundly influenced his lifestyle choices.
Goldblum explained that conversations with the film’s director about the treatment of animals led him to stop consuming meat and poultry. He now follows a pescatarian diet. The actor emphasized a broader philosophical shift, expressing a belief in the necessity of creating a world that functions well for all its inhabitants, including every creature.
His co-stars in the musical adaptation, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, have been known for their vegan commitments for over a decade. Goldblum’s experience is not an isolated case in the film industry; other performers have similarly altered their diets after working on projects with animal-related themes.
The second installment of the “Wicked” series is scheduled for release later this month.
