Bayern Munich have finalized a season-long loan agreement for Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, with the German giants paying an initial €15 million fee. The deal includes a €65 million option for a permanent transfer next summer, alongside a sell-on clause for the London club.
The move comes as Chelsea confirmed the permanent departure of Christopher Nkunku to AC Milan in a separate £36 million transaction.
Jackson, 24, found himself surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge following Chelsea’s acquisition of attacking reinforcements Liam Delap and João Pedro earlier this transfer window. The Senegalese international arrived from Villarreal in 2023 for £32 million and registered 24 goals across 65 Premier League appearances during his tenure.
His Chelsea career began promisingly with a debut goal against Luton Town, followed by a memorable hat-trick in a 4-1 victory at Tottenham. Jackson netted 14 league goals in his first campaign, developing an effective partnership with creative midfielder Cole Palmer.
Despite signing a contract extension until 2033 last September and contributing to Chelsea’s Conference League triumph with crucial goals in the semi-final and final, Jackson’s discipline proved problematic. The striker received red cards for violent conduct against Newcastle United and in the Club World Cup against Flamengo, resulting in multiple suspensions.
His final months at Chelsea saw him miss the season opener through suspension and remain unused in matchday squads despite being fully fit, signaling his diminished role under the current management.
