CAMPBELL’S FIRES IT EXECUTIVE OVER DEROGATORY REMARKS

1 min read

A senior technology executive has been terminated from Campbell’s following the emergence of recorded comments where he disparaged both the company’s customer base and employees of Indian descent.

The executive, who served as vice-president of information technology, was captured on tape making offensive statements about the company’s products and workforce. In the recording, he allegedly characterized Campbell’s food items as being for “poor people” and made derogatory remarks about Indian employees’ capabilities.

The recording came to light through a former security analyst who documented the conversation during a meeting about his compensation. The former employee has since filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the company, citing the executive’s inappropriate conduct as part of his complaint.

Campbell’s confirmed it had reviewed the recording and determined the voice belonged to the executive in question. Company representatives stated the language used was “vulgar, offensive and false,” emphasizing that such behavior contradicts corporate values and would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The company also addressed claims made in the recording about their food quality, specifically denying assertions about their chicken sourcing. Officials clarified that all chicken used in their products comes from USDA-approved suppliers and meets established quality standards.

In response to the incident, Campbell’s issued a public apology for the distress caused by the executive’s remarks and confirmed his immediate dismissal from the organization.
