NEWLY RELEASED EMAILS DETAIL JEFFREY EPSTEIN’S CLAIMED ENCOUNTER WITH PRINCESS DIANA

1 min read

A trove of emails from the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, recently made public by a congressional committee, includes a reference to a 1994 encounter with Princess Diana.

According to a 2016 email, which appears to be a draft for a biographical profile, Epstein was described as having his arm around the Princess of Wales. The alleged incident reportedly took place during a dinner at London’s Serpentine Gallery. The email notes that this occurred on the same evening that Prince Charles publicly acknowledged his relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles, and that Diana was wearing what has often been called her “revenge dress.”

A different version of the same draft, however, only stated that the two were seated beside each other, omitting any specific physical contact. The planned biography, which was never published, was intended to run over 8,000 words.

Further correspondence from 2015 shows that Epstein was later asked to verify the details of that evening, but no reply from him was found in the released documents.

Separate claims from the author of the draft profile suggested that both Epstein and Donald Trump were allegedly competitive in their pursuits of the princess following her separation from Prince Charles.

In a separate, recorded interview, Epstein’s associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, discussed the financier’s social connections in London. She indicated that a meeting between Epstein and Diana may have been arranged by a mutual friend, but she did not confirm the nature of their relationship, stating she did not wish to speak ill of the late princess.

Princess Diana died in a car accident in Paris in 1997.
