WHITE HOUSE UNVEILS GAZA PEACE FRAMEWORK CALLING FOR IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE AND POST-WAR TRANSITION

1 min read

A comprehensive peace proposal for Gaza has been presented, outlining a path to immediately end the prolonged conflict. The framework demands a cessation of all hostilities and the subsequent release of all captives within 72 hours of Israel’s acceptance of the terms.

In exchange for the captives, Israel would release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, including those serving life sentences and individuals detained since the outbreak of violence. The plan specifies a ratio for the return of deceased individuals alongside living captives.

Crucially, the proposal does not mandate a full Israeli military withdrawal prior to the hostage release. Instead, forces would reposition to designated lines inside Gaza, with all military operations suspended during the handover process. A complete, staged withdrawal is conditional upon the fulfillment of subsequent agreements.

The framework offers amnesty to members of militant factions who disarm and commit to peaceful coexistence. Those wishing to depart Gaza would be granted safe passage to accepting nations.

The long-term vision for Gaza is described as a demilitarized territory, free from extremist threats. The plan explicitly rules out Israeli occupation or annexation and forbids any forced displacement of the population. No role in future governance is permitted for the current militant leadership.

To address the severe humanitarian crisis, the plan mandates the unimpeded flow of full aid into Gaza through international organizations. This would necessitate the reopening of key border crossings.

Post-conflict governance would be handed to an interim, apolitical Palestinian committee. This body would operate under the supervision of an international “Board of Peace,” proposed to be led by the current U.S. president and including other global leaders. This board would manage funding and oversee a major redevelopment plan for the territory, contingent upon reforms within the Palestinian Authority.

The issue of Palestinian statehood is addressed as a distant prospect, conditional upon the successful implementation of the Gaza redevelopment and internal reforms. The plan concludes by advocating for an interfaith dialogue to foster tolerance and a shift in prevailing narratives, suggesting that these steps could eventually create conditions for a credible pathway to self-determination.
