Peter Phillips, a grandson of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has confirmed his engagement to Harriet Sperling. The couple, who began their relationship in 2024, shared the news on August 1.
According to an official announcement released by a family spokesperson, both families have been informed and are delighted by the engagement. The King and other senior members of the royal family have also been notified of the couple’s plans. While the engagement is confirmed, a wedding date has not yet been set.
Phillips and Sperling made their first public appearance together in May 2024 at the Badminton Horse Trials. They reportedly met through a shared interest in their daughters’ sporting activities. Phillips was previously married to Autumn Kelly from 2008 until their divorce in 2021, with whom he shares two daughters. Sperling has a daughter from a previous relationship.
Despite his royal lineage, Phillips does not hold a royal title, following a decision made by his parents at his birth. He maintains a career in sports management, while Sperling works as a pediatric nurse specialist and freelance writer.
The couple has been seen together at several royal events throughout their relationship, including appearing together at this year’s Royal Ascot.
