TRANSFER WINDOW BUZZ: GOALKEEPER SHUFFLE AND STRIKER MOVES DOMINATE HEADLINES

1 min read

The summer transfer window continues to generate significant activity, with several high-profile moves potentially taking shape.

In Manchester, a major goalkeeping reshuffle could be on the horizon. Galatasaray maintains a firm interest in City’s Ederson, a development that might facilitate Gianluigi Donnarumma’s switch from Paris Saint-Germain to the Etihad. Negotiations are reportedly ongoing between the involved parties. While City publicly desires to retain Ederson, a transfer to Turkey remains a distinct possibility.

Newcastle United is setting its sights on a new forward, with Roma’s Artem Dovbyk emerging as a primary target. The initial approach is for a loan deal, though the Italian club is open to a permanent transfer for a fee believed to be at least €30 million, likely with an obligatory purchase clause included.

West Ham United, seeking to solidify a defense that has conceded frequently, is in the market for a goalkeeper. Hull City’s Ivor Pandur, last season’s player of the year for his club, is a leading candidate. Another option is Botafogo’s John Victor, though his price tag is expected to exceed the reported £6 million valuation. Defensive changes could also see Nayef Aguerd and Maxwel Cornet depart the London Stadium, with several clubs across Europe showing interest.

In other developments, Chelsea has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho, with a transfer fee estimated between £35 million and £40 million.

Wolverhampton Wanderers aim to bolster their attacking line with the signing of Tolu Arokodare from Genk. The Nigerian was the top scorer in the Belgian league last season, but with two years left on his contract, a substantial offer will be required.

Finally, a notable intra-rivalry move could see Ipswich Town make a £10 million bid, plus add-ons, for Norwich City’s midfielder Marcelino Núñez. Despite the Norwich manager’s insistence that the player is part of his plans, the offer presents a significant test of that resolve.
