A curated selection of personal items and annotated scripts from the estate of the late actor Alan Rickman will be offered to the public this December. The collection provides a unique window into the actor’s meticulous preparation process and celebrated career.
The auction, managed by the memorabilia firm Propstore, will feature hundreds of lots drawn from the actor’s personal archives. A standout item is the heavily annotated shooting script from the 1988 action film Die Hard, which marked Rickman’s film debut. The script, filled with the actor’s handwritten notes and dialogue suggestions, is expected to fetch between £30,000 and £60,000. A prop banknote from the same film is also listed separately.
Fans of the Harry Potter film series, in which Rickman portrayed the complex Potions Master Severus Snape, will find several notable pieces. These include a gold-plated pocket watch gifted to the cast and crew of the first film, a personal set of the novels, and a hand-drawn Halloween card from his co-star Rupert Grint.
The sale also highlights artifacts from other significant roles. A script from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves carries a high estimate, while items from the cult favorite Galaxy Quest and the romantic drama Truly Madly Deeply are also featured. For those interested in Rickman’s work behind the camera, materials from his directorial efforts, The Winter Guest and A Little Chaos, will be available.
The three-day auction is scheduled to take place both online and at a central London venue from December 5th to 7th.
